It appears we are having e-mail concernes. a little April fools joke from Verizon. I have created a new e-mail address that we can be reached at. cpsmedina@gmail.com please us this address for now. Our Verizon account appears to have parted ways with yahoo. in doing this all our accounts needed to be changed to verizons server. After Kim spent 2 hours on hold today we found the server is overloaded... and they already cut it off with yahoo. I can send out but can not recieve.

Again we are sorry for the delay and hope this will be fixed but for now we are changing accounts.

I'm big on the chamber because they work hard to promote shopping locally and seeking local contractors (Chamber Members) whenever possible. Well here they are.

Well, all good things come to an end. Our trip is over. I'm sitting in the San Antonio airport looking at what will likely be my last glimpse of 60+ degrees for a month or so. The equipment we purchased will take our studio to an entirely new level. We will be able to provide our clients and prospective clients with something very few in northeast Ohio have to offer. I look forward to hitting the ground running and putting what I learned this week to work right away. Kim and I are tired too. We had a few days to see some sights. Can't sit still on a trip - we need to see it all. I was too tired Saturday to post an image from our day so I might do that later today. (the card reader is in my suit case and already checked). We had a good few days and Kim enjoyed the time with her sister. We both look forward to sleeping in our own bed tonight.

Today we went boat shopping. The one in the upper right had a few less miles on it than the one in the bottom but was a lot older. I think it first set sail in 1492, but at the end of the day we decided the USS Lexington was a little more than what we could dry dock in the driveway back home. It would look cool with Christmas lights on it. I think Kim had a little too much fun with the gun. If you see a Buick driving down the road with a double barrel cannon mounted on the hood, I suggest getting out of the way grandpa...

It was a fun day and nice to see the big yellow thing in the sky. It was chilly here a few days, but not nearly as bad as home. I guess that is okay.

Gruene, Texas - (Green)

Ever see the movie Michael? It's the one with John Travolta portraying Michael the arch angel on a vacation from Heaven. Well, if you have, we were just in the town location where the Bar scene was filmed, when he picked up all the girls in the town and did some line dancing. I think he got in a bar fight. I guess Willy Nelson plays here often along with other hill billies...just kidding country fans... singers like Clint Black and George Overstreet (they say this is where he was discovered).

The dance hall was okay but Kim and I had a better time in the general store across the street. Of course, we posed with the Texas covered wagon and stuff.

We are in Texas for some continuing education and to learn how to use some new photography equipment. I can't wait to get home and use it. You will see the new stuff here soon.

Professional Publicity Portraits - Retouched

I hope Sandy doesn't mind me posting this in the original and retouched form, but I wanted to show a side-by- side comparison. There's a difference between hiring a professional portrait photographer to create your business portraits and just stopping in at a Mall or Big Box store for a "quick picture" or worse, having the local newspaper snap one off in the back room to place in your ad. As you can see, these are the same photograph. The one on the bottom is cropped a little tighter and color adjusted, but more importantly RETOUCHED! The top one is similar to what you would get at a big box store, and that is so much better than a candid image taken up against a wall at the office or by the newspaper reporter. The difference between plain and retouched is like night and day.

We had a heat wave today and just in time to do engagement photos at Hinckley Park. Ed and Kala are getting married in October of 2009 and decided to have their photos done outdoors. What a nice couple. I told them I can't wait for the wedding, they're so easy to photograph and good looking too. It is bound to be a great wedding day. I should have the opportunity to capture some great photographs as well.

We had a great time and a good turnout even with the the first heavy snow fall of 2009. We spoke with a lot of brides to be. I love to hear how they got engaged and what plans they have for the wedding.

Wow. What a flu season. I have never been so sick, so long in my life. If you have not done it and still can, GET A FLU SHOT! I was knocked down for over 3 weeks and I might add, the worst 3 a photographer can be sick. Feeling much better now but still a little sluggish.

Just posting the Images from the 2008 Black Tie Affair for the Medina General Hospital Foundation. If you were at the event and had to leave before the photos were printed, I have them and would like to mail them to you. Here is what we need to do so I know who you are and how to reach you. Go to the "Recent Events" link on the home page at http://www.themedinaphotographer.com/ . From that point look up Medina Hospital from the list. You will need to enter a password, it is ... password.

Look though the images till you see yours, record the image number and send an e-mail to cps564@verizon.net with that image number and your contact info (name, address, phone) and I will mail it out to you. Any that I do not hear from after a few weeks will be returned to the foundation office at the hospital.

There is no cost for the 1st 5x7 image. If you would like addional prints you can order them off the website with a credit card or call me with your order at 330-591-4243

NEO Cheer Compitition 08

Tonight was a fun night!
Medina High School hosted a cheerleading competition for all the high schools in the Northeast Ohio Conference. This was a very cool event. I can honestly say, I don’t recall our cheerleaders doing this kind of jumping and flipping when I was in school 20 years ago. It was like gymnastics without the bars. The ladies looked like they had a great time and all did a great job. We will have images posted soon on our recent events sight. It will be named Cheer Event and the password will be … password in case you were there and did not get a card.

We hope to have these up by Thursday, the 30th

Hi All,

I just finished saving my wedding to disk for the night and getting ready to hit the hay but I wanted to post an image before I did.

It was a great day today. My buddy and longtime friend in the wedding business was married today. Brandon Frazier of Midnight Music DJ service. Brandon was wed to Jessica Hudson of the Skyview Lodge (her family's business). The day was wonderful and they had perfect weather for a Sweetest Day Wedding. Best of luck in a long and happy life together guys..

I also had the opportunity to work with a few people I was really pleased with. Terri Krul of TK Video Productions (http://www.tkvideo.net/) and Rev. Richard Kresila of Elyria Wedding Ministry. (http://www.elyiaweddingminister.com/) and of course the good folks of Rosewood Carriage Service in Litchfield. They all did a great job and were a pleasure to work with today.

Shockey Family

Meet the Shockey family! These guys were a lot of fun even if we did get soaked taking the family photograph. We had been rained out three times this summer trying to get this picture. Then we had a church camp and the little guy had scratched his face on two other trys. Our appointment in Akron was at 5:30 on a Tuesday night and as I left Medina I saw the rain clouds moving in. I was at the location 30 minutes early and luckily the family was too. We hurried up and took a group of just the kids and then had them change for the family group. We only got a few images taken before the sky opened wide. (Right at 5:30) We all were completely soaked to the bone but before it happened we got this image. Not bad for racing against the Clock and Mother Nature. These were some of the nicest kids as well. We had fun even in the rain. It is good to see we still have strong families that love each other and can make lemonade when handed a basket of lemons.

Did you notice the Christmas Card? Yep it is that time already. Has it been a while since you had a nice family portrait? If so, give me a call. This time of year we get really busy. Okay, so I mentioned I would be posting stuff all the time but I guess I get caught up in the day and don't get to it. I had an opportunity to photograph an old friend. 5 years ago this little guy came in to our studio for the first time and his mom purchased our baby book program. It included an album with enough pages for two 8x10 portraits per year till the child was five years old. It also covered all the session fees for all those appointments and the 8x10 photograph for the album. He is five now! We have become friends so I hope to still be working with his family for years to come. Happy birthday buddy!

I had a great time today photographing the golf groups for the new Medina Keller Williams Realty office. The Outing was at Deer Pass public Golf course on Greenwich Rd in Westfield (near Lake Rd next to route 71 - 76 interchange)

It was fun to see Roger and Nancy Hassler, part owners of the Medina Keller Williams office along with their son and son-in-law today. A few years ago I had the opportunity to photograph the entire family at Nancy's "Clam" Bake. (I don't eat anything that swims so I didn't try any but I think my wife, Kim might have tried one. There is a little inside joke on the whole Clam Bake thing. If you see the Hasslers, you'll have to ask them about it. Let's just say now they will never forget they had one, because mom brought in a professional photographer to record it.

Jared was my ring dude at my wedding 15 years ago and now he is a MARINE.... His Family had a nice reception for him on Labor Day and he heads back out for more training next week. Both Jared and Austin are Eagle Scouts, and will be protecting our rights, and protecting our flag and what it stands for as Americans. Safe wishes to them both, I'm a proud Uncle...

Well I just got the Images from the Bone Lady Birthday Bash in Medina's up town park from Sunday afternoon. We had a great time and helped raise money for the Coates for Kids program.
